Abstract

This laboratory workbook contains 19 sets of laboratory experiments from two main topics of Medical Electronic courses. Physiological measurement covers the principle of biomedical instrumentation, studies of medical diagnostic instruments and techniques for the measurement of physiological variables in living system. These include ECG, EMG, EOG, EEG, blood pressure, photoplethysmogram, respiratory, pulse and body impedance measurements. Maintenance of medical services provides the fundamental of engineering knowledge in understanding the International and Malaysia Safety Standard ie IEC60601 and ISO13485. It covers the preventive maintenance of ECG machines, blood pressure, infusion and Sp02 devices, electro-surgical unit and defibrillator.
