dc.description.abstract It is understood that Low-Carbon Transportation will contribute to a reduction of 29% of Green House Gases (GHG). Moving towards this goal, Nadi Putra, the public transportation using natural gas in Putrajaya, Malaysia is one of the initiatives done by Putrajaya Holdings in order to achieve this. Nevertheless, the reliability of the service needs to be improved in order to attract more users. Traffic congestion results in unpredictable and inconsistent journey times, especially at peak times, hence, this IoT based system proposes to provide an analytics platform that normalizes data in order to improve the accuracy of bus estimated time of arrival (ETA) and gain insight on service performance. A Bus Stop module consists of an RFID tag, and a card reader will be placed on the bus and at the bus stop. This Bus Stop module will be installed at every bus stop together with LCD and interfaced to a Microcontroller-Arduino Mega 2560 and Uno R3. This module receives and sends information of the current, previous and next stop of the bus. The Real Time Clock (RTC) indicates the ETA of the bus at the next stop. This system is expected to encourage Malaysian to use public transport and reduce the carbon footprint. It has a huge prospect to be implemented in the future, starting with the proposed Green City-Putrajaya, Malaysia. en_US
