Abstract:
Generally, electric motor is a device that converts electrical energy to mechanical energy. Motor is widely used in daily life application. Nowadays, the need of high power has been increase which is the performance of motor such as flux linkage, back electromotive force (EMF) and torque characteristic. To overcome this problem, many previous researcher has introduced a new design using double stator topology. The conventional electric motor produce large air gap. The use of double stator helps to minimize air gap and maximize the flux linkage and lead the higher performance. These research focusing on to simulate static torque, to analyze performance and to compare and validate the simulation between measurement result. This project design created 18 slot 20 pole by using SolidWorks software and simulated using finite element method (FEM) which is used Ansys Maxwell 16.0 software as a tools. The FEM simulation result of flux and back EMF was increased by 50% and 46% by implement double stator slotted rotor structure compared with single stator topology. The cogging torque result was 0.17 Nm and 0.14 Nm respectively in FEM and measurement result. The torque percentage difference between the FEM and measured cogging torque was 2.0 %. The static torque for this research was inject 2A, 4A and 6A current in coil winding. The maximum torque of 2A was 5.94Nm and 5.72 for FEM simulation and measurement value. The percentage different for 2A, 4A and 6A was 3.7%, 1.6% and 7.3%. All of the result were validate and reveal in good agreement. The details of total harmonic distortion (THD) needs to consider as future research. This research guideline for modelling and simulate for performance of three phase DSSR-PMM. The analysis is done with different current inject value to find the maximum static torque of DSSR-PMM.
