dc.description.abstract Rectangular patch antenna also known as rectangular microstrip patch antenna has been known worldwide in mobile and wireless communications. Patch antennas are well known for its ease of analysis and fabrication and their attractive radiation characteristics. However, there are also some drawbacks in this microstrip antenna. They are low efficiency, narrow bandwidth and surface wave’s losses. In this project, a very comprehensive review of the two rectangular microstrip patches on its feeding method which is coaxial probe feed is presented with different frequencies. These antennas will be designed, simulated, fabricated, measured and the antennas performances will be compared. The designed antennas will be simulated using Microwave Office Software (MWO) and tested using Lucas-Nulle, Uni train interface antennas. This simulation focused on studying the differences between the same rectangular shapes but with different frequencies. The design is aimed to achieve less than -20 dB Return Loss (RL) that is to ensure that 99% of power is transmitted at the desired frequencies range. The fabricated hardware is expected to produce good Radiation Pattern as the existing antennas. The aim of this project is to design, fabricate and analyse two rectangular patch antennas with coaxial probe feed, operating at 8.5 GHz and 9.5 GHz. en_US
