Abstract:
Temperature and Humidity sensor are important sensors that are used in the domestic and industry nowadays. Temperature and Humidity sensor calibration usually need to be calibrated at least once a year to ensure its reliability. The current humidity calibration chamber size is too big to be mobile. Therefore, the sensor needs to be sent back annually to calibration companies or provider experts to calibrate their Temperature and Humidity sensor. This also will cause additional charges for the sensor to be sent and return to the consumers. The conventional chamber also cannot go further than 30% Relative Humidity (RH). The results produced is not reliable and highly fluctuate. This can cause higher measurement uncertainty and producing bad calibration quality. This project development is intended to develop an economic climate chamber which is fast and efficient for on-site calibration according to ISO 17025, to improve calibration results compared to the existing chamber by reducing the measurement uncertainty and to produce a portable chamber that is lightweight and convenient to travel. The development of this project can set to a temperature range of 10oC to 70oC at 55%RH and can also be set to produce humidity ranging from 10%RH to 90%RH. This project development uses Peltier as the heating and cooling source, the air compressor will generate air and the air will pass through both silica gel and distilled water depending on the humidity setting. The silica gel will dehumidify the air thus dry air is produced while the compressed air tubing is submerged in the distilled water. The bubble is produced in the distilled water, and the bubbles will pop. Thus, air bubbles will produce humid air. The results obtained from this project development shows that the project development can produce the same temperature and humidity as conventional chamber with two times the speed of conventional chamber. The project development also weighs 3.74 kg only which is suitable for on-site calibration that can be operated by one person. The development of this project is very economical and helps to save money, time and energy.
