dc.description.abstract Visually impaired people faces many challenges in their routine life. To move around and make themselves familiar with the environment, they usually have to depend on others help. In this work, we present a voice alert system for visually impaired people that can help them to detect obstacles in their way such as car, chair, animals etc. In this system, it was comprises a camera detector, Raspberry Pi and audio speaker. In this work, the system is embedded with Raspberry Pi and the software used are Open CV, Google API and Text-To-Speech (Phython). For image or obstacle detection, the suitable component used is camera. Technology nowadays is complex, the advances in technology are causing the blind to fall behind, sometimes even putting their lives at risk. This voice alert system can provide the better solution to this problem. This system is based on embedded system and provides alert to the user by giving audio instructions through speaker which is connected to raspberry pi using a USB jack. Our main objective is to make a compact, self-sufficient system that will permit these blind people to travel through an environment. en_US
