dc.description.abstract The purpose of this project is to Develop FPGA VGA Graphic Using ALTERA DE2 Board where the image will display on VGA monitor as an output result. Before develop this project, it basically is focused on the studying and understanding the FPGA, VGA and ALTERA DE2 Board includes hardware and software. The ALTERA DE2 (Development and Education) board is an ideal vehicle for learning about digital logic, computer organization, and FPGA. From this development and education board, it offers a rich set of features that make it suitable for a variety of design projects as well as for development of sophisticated digital design. From the variety of design project that can be made, the main focus is to design project that configuring the Cyclone II FPGA to display 640x480 (1 bit per pixel) image as an output on VGA monitor through ALTERA DE2 board using QUARTUS II software and using Verilog HDL program where the image file will stored into Embedded (Block) RAM in Cyclone II FPGA chip memory. This project is individual project for UNIKL-BMI Final Year Project (FYP) and it was finished within 1 year. During develop this project, a lot of experience and benefit that can be obtained where the ALTERA DE2 board has provide many features to enable various multimedia project developments where we can explore more component selection which made according to the most popular design in volume production multimedia products such as DVD, VCD, and MP3 players. The DE2 platform allows users to quickly understand all the insight tricks to design real multimedia projects for industry. en_US
