dc.description.abstract Thermal comfort is the occupants’ satisfaction with the surrounding thermal conditions and is essential to consider when designing a structure that will be occupied by people. Green screening (GS) is a passive cooling technique in providing better sustainable living environment especially in thermal performance. The aims of this project are to evaluate the effect of artificial and real life green screening for radiation control in one single storey house located at 199 Jalan Sri Pulai 11,Taman Sri Pulai Seremban Negeri Sembilan Malaysia. This paper presents outcomes of comparison experiment study on artificial and real plant green screening(GS) that attached at dining area at eastern orientations of the house. The evaluations are conducted on illuminance level, indoor temperature, outdoor temperature, surface floor temperature and solar radiation. Comparison results indicated, green screening with real plant contribute better result than artificial plant. Major contribution factors are from shading and cooling effects of the plant. Research also discuss maintenance issue that occurs by implementing both strategies and conclude some recommendations for future investigation. en_US
