dc.description.abstract This project developed a low cost of AC and DC motor drivers lab trainers to control the speed of motor by using different power semiconductor drivers which is TRIAC driver for AC motor and MOSFET driver for DC Motor where it is not available in Universiti Kuala Lumpur British Malaysian Institute. Dimmer lamp developed with TRIAC driver for AC Motor by controlling the lighting of the lamp. DC compound motor was used to control the speed of motor with the MOSFET driver by using the android application. For dimmer lamp, the lighting was adjusted manually by controlling the variable resistor as in the programming of Arduino. For motor speed was adjusted based on the instruction set by the user on smartphone (RoboremoApps) for DC compound motor as stated in the programming of Arduino. Hence, the objective of this research is to develop and study an AC and DC low Cost speed motor control using power semiconductor device drivers such as MOSFET and TRIAC was successfully achieved. The low cost of this project can be used for an educational power electronics lab trainers in the future. en_US
