dc.description.abstract This paper presents a design of hydro turbine that is completely functions with using a rain water harvesting. The elaboration of this designing is more concern about generation part. The choosing and designing of blade turbine, the number of cup required for a small diameter of turbine and the use of aquaphonic system in electrical system (bell siphon drainage) are all mention and well explain. The demand of electricity in residential sector shows a rapid development happens in Malaysia. According to the geologist, Malaysia is place in a strategic position of equatorial rainforest. That’s mean that Malaysia is having a huge rainfall over the years. However, the opportunity is not being used among our civilization. Malaysia is experiencing a huge waste of free water source from rain session. The harvesting of rainwater is not very commercialize around here is the main reason. The estimation from experts is about 2296.6 mm² (Enclosure: Gombak rainfall statistics) of rainwater are wasted every year and there is no effort from local to conserve this rainwater. A huge amount of rainwater can be used in many different ways, the proposed of rainwater harvesting system in this project will explain the energy conversion in generating an electricity from rainwater inside the domestic pipeline. The velocity of rainwater harvesting can created a mechanical energy by moving the blade turbine to spin the generator. This energy is a prime mover of this project and act as a kick-starter for overall project. The shaft of the turbine rotates clockwise moved by the mechanical energy and it is permanently sticks to the generator. Here is where the electricity is generates where the armature inside DC motor will rotate towards the spin of the shaft. The rotation of armature will induce an e.m.f (electromagnetic field) from a field coil that twist on every pole of the motor. Does the number of poles affect the generation of electricity? Yes it does affect, the higher the poles, the higher power generates. So choosing of generator is very important of this project. However, the power generated from the pipeline depends on the water flow rate, water consumption, pressure head and the turbine generator used in this project. en_US
