dc.description.abstract Colour blindness (colour vision deficiency or CVD) is the inability or decreased ability to see colour, or perceive colour differences, under normal lighting conditions. This inability brings a lot of difficulties to person having this condition facing their daily life. Up until today, there is no real cure for the colour blind problem, the approximation is about 1 in 12 men (8%) got affected by colour blind problem, and is significantly rarer which is 1 in 200 in women (0.5%). Because of that, they had problem when seeing colourful things and to differentiate between colours and become less comfortable when facing colours. Due to this problem, this project is done with the aim to help the colour blind people by developing visual aid for them. The visual aid come in the form of hardware prototype. The methods used are detect with sensors of photoresistor and RGB Led, handle the processing with Arduino microcontroller and display the output colour with LCD. The hardware prototype works by comparing the light resistivity of detected subject with the calibration value of white and black of sample. The converting process will be based on the formula used for sensing the colour. The output colour will be projected into LCD display as output. The development of this project will be able to aid many colour blind people to get the correct colour of vision by using this device and display the colour on LCD. The idea of detecting colour also may be improved with better sensing material and more user-friendly design. en_US
