dc.description.abstract This paper reports a simple application of Fiber Bragg gratings (FBG) for continuous, real time temperature monitoring fiber Bragg gratings. Both uncoated and polyimide coated FBGs are used to detect water temperature between 10 to 100 celcius. A supercontinuum broadband light source is use as the input and an optical spectrum analyzer as the output. Significant changes were observed in Bragg wavelength when the sensor was exposed to different temperature levels. en_US
