Secure Image Hiding using Cryptography and Steganography1

Abstract

All information can be obtained by using internet nowadays. Human now capable to share even they are faraway for each other. Instead, they also can share with anyone who needed that, even they don’t know each other. But not all information can be share with all. The data must be in secure in order to protect against unauthorized access use. Cryptography and steganography are the popular methods to secure data. By using cryptography, data is transformed into some other gibberish form and then the encrypted data is transmitted. In steganography, the data is embedded in image file and the image file is transmitted. This program basically comparing Playfair cipher method and Vigenere cipher. Also this paper compares method in terms of data secure. Besides, this program has signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), and histogram to compare between original image and encrypted image.
