In this final year project, a study on Improvement of Equipment and Inventory Management System towards Service Excellence. This project describes the use of software in inventory management to improve inventory management system. Software used to implement this project is, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The selected case studies for this study are at laboratory of Quality Engineering in University Kuala Lumpur, Seri Alam, Johor. This study was initiated to collect data and get a list of existing laboratory of Quality Engineering and also get a list of inventory assets and a list of all the equipment in the lab. Then, with a list that has been found, the list will be transferred to a software system that is Computerized Maintenance and Management System (CMMS). For inventory management, we select all the laboratories of Quality Engineering. Next, several ideas have been increased and improvements to increase the level and quality of a laboratory. This improvement ideas would only be implemented only in one laboratory out of eight of existing Quality Engineering’s laboratory. Selected laboratory for the improvement of living standards and quality is Surface Structure laboratory. Among the improvements is to embody the idea of 5S and Kanban System. With implementation of improvement ideas at the laboratory, conditions in the laboratory is more systematic and orderly conditions in which the layout was modified in the laboratory. This leads to a more strategic for the students to prepare a sample and make experiments. By using the Kanban method also, the situation is also a regular fixture in the laboratory where every handset has been labeled and in specific places. With the Kanban method also, we have formed a single card for each machine to facilitate the technician if there is damage to the engine. By using the 5S method, every step has been followed and the results are better organized where all the stuff that is not needed in the laboratory have been repealed.

This project outcome of the work has carried out in doing and completing final year project. The Development of Smart Skateboard for disabled people purpose usage. The report starts off with an introduction skateboard concerning of definition of important of this topic such as definition of skateboard and disabled people. Several sketches and drawing isometric have been made and only a few have been selected based on the suitability design. Based on sketches, material needed in this project will be listed and suitable design will be selected. Next all the sketches will be draw into Solid Work 2014 software to get the 3D drawing concept 1 to concept 5 for the smart skateboard the choose of the design conceptual using the Pugh method to see the have stability datum design such as ergonomic, stability, maintenance and assembly skateboard easily. Lastly to make prototype of smart skateboard with the electronic arduino uno and drive motor to software programming using arduino free to the smart skateboard functional to on and off and to forward and backward the handle manual is not provide because the cost is higher and we just to stand the handle of the functional manual handle is for real product. At the end when all the process mentioned above is done, the report writing process will be guided University Kuala Lumpur (MITEC) final year report writing guide. This process also included the presentation of the prototype. The project ended after the submission of the report and the presentation slide has been presented.

Transportation is a medium for us to go to a destination we need. It is very important for us to complete our daily life routines and activities such as working, studying and travelling. Without proper facilities on the road and bad behavior of the road users while driving or riding, accidents may be happened. Nowadays, a lot of accidents keep occur day by day due to the problem of motorcyclists behavior reacts with the other road users. It can influence to serious injuries and death if the road users are not following the rules while using the road. Due to these problems, one research has been made to create awareness of safety for motorcycles especially at highways and these research is been conducted at one of the highways in Johor Bahru which located at Eastern Dispersal Link Expressway (EDL). This research is closely related to the problem of accidents due to motorcyclist and their interaction with the other vehicles. An alternative to avoid this problem is to build an exclusive motorcycle lane or specific lane for motorcyclist, so that the research main purpose or objectives is to create awareness of safety and to increase safety enhancements especially for motorcyclist. For the successful result and implementation, this motorcycle lane must be provided on the road and the attitude of the road users must be maintained. With good planning on the road by developing motorcycle lane, it is possible to decrease the percentage of accidents because motorcyclists have their own lane and the increasing of safety enhancement can be achieved.
