Title: Designing a Seaweed Drying Machine
Authors: Akmal Nazim Bin Azlan
Issue Date: 8-Dec-2014
Abstract: This project is about the designing a portable and sustainable drying machine to dried a seaweed using the solar drying method and in the same time the design of the machine is also considering on the drying processing of the seaweed in order to constantly produce a constant grade of dried seaweed which is the output product consist of 30% of moisture after being dried. A site visit being conducted at Sandakan, Sabah in order to collect a correct data about the seaweed manufacturing process and also to get specifications related to the existing method of seaweed drying. After the data had being collected, the process of design will begin using the data collected and also the data from other reliable source. After the machine had being completely developed, the machine will be undergo an actual running process where at this stage this machine will be using a real seaweed to be dried. Data will be collected from the process using the machine and comparison of data will be done to look either the machine able to perform on it requirement or not. From that result, there will be a conclusion either that machine full fill or need to be improve so that it will able to perform according to its requirement.
