Issue Date: 17-Jun-2016
Abstract: The purpose of our project is to invent an electrical string trimmer (grass trimmer) that has an auto-charging system to its own power supply by using the kinetic energy produced by the cutting blades motor rotation. It’s supplied by a 12v battery supply. When the power supply is supplied, the power will go through the motor activation circuit and activates the motor when the push button is pushed. While the motor is spinning the dc generator attached to the motor will generate electricity and the electricity will be channeled to the boost converter to boost up the output voltage to 15V and flows through the charging circuit to charge the battery. Once the battery is full the LCD Battery Indicator will show the reading of the battery voltage and capacity which is 13.8V and 100% full capacity. This product will be portable and mobile for the consumers to be carrying it around their lawns or gardens as it is easy to be carried around. The fact that the product is mobile and portable adds up the usability factor of the product which is it helps to increase the area of trimming for the consumers. It produces zero emissions which means it produces no pollution to the environment as it is an environment and eco-friendly machine. The “Rechargeable Grass Trimmer” offers many advantages such as its usage duration is longer than a normal string trimmer, larger area of working, produces zero emission and it is eco-friendly.
