metadata.fyp.dc.description.abstract: The project is focused on designing a motor assisted mechanism for use in the existing passenger’s overhead stowage compartment in commercial aircraft. Purpose of this project is to design and build a mechanism on the passenger stowage bin to make it more convenient to stow away the bags. This project or design consist of mechanical and electrical components including two (2) resistance sensors that are very easy to control or use. This design is also completed with safety mechanism that will cut-off the operation during failure. ln most aircraft, the stowage bin are high. It is difficult for short person especially Asians to reach their belongings that are put far in the stowage. Hopefully, this project will help to solve the problem.
